Releash Aljezur

Our favorite restaurants

Are you a vegetarian, omnivore or carnivore? There is a delicious restaurant for everyone in this village. As everyone knows, Portugal is a country where very good fish is served everywhere. This also applies to Aljezur. Are you going to sit somewhere and like fish? Ask for the catch of the day and go for it.

If you drive into the village of Aljezur from the beaches Arrifana or Monte Clerigo, there are several restaurants and lunchrooms/coffee shops on your left and right. All very worthwhile and affordable. Yet our favorite Arte Bianca stands out. You can eat delicious sourdough pizzas here. Moreover, they also have (just a few) delicious Portuguese specialty beers here. Sister restaurants are also in Vale da Telha and Sagres.

If you drive a little further into Aljezur, do not turn right over the bridge, but go straight on. You will then come across the restaurant Pont’a Pé. They have delicious Portuguese specialties on the menu and eating here is an absolute must. If a delicious vegetarian meal makes your mouth water, then you have to walk straight ahead and eat at Mó Veggie Bistro. This is where I became a fan of vegetarian food. Good vegetarian burgers with matching specialty beers and delicious salads and soups. The ambiance of eating in an old mill is really worth it.

Closer to our guesthouse you walk 200 meters up the hill from the front door towards the village square next to the church. Here are 2 lovely terraces where you can eat and drink well with a beautiful view over Aljezur. Walk into the alley between these two terraces and you will also find several restaurants here. If you walk down to us, there is a chic restaurant Várzea on the corner of the roundabout opposite the supermarket. They have a varying menu here, but it is well worth it. Do you want to roll to your bed and do you like fish. Then visit restaurant O mar around the corner from us.

At the beach

If you don’t feel like walking a long distance from the beach to enjoy your cold beer/wine or soda, it’s best to go to Monte Clerigo. You walk down the beach and immediately you will find several restaurants for a nice lunch or dinner.

When you are on Arrifana beach, there is 1 restaurant at the beach with a fantastic seaview. Here you can sit, eat and drink. However, in high season you have to wait a long time for a spot and in winter they are often closed. Would you like something to eat or drink after a wonderful surf? Then walk up and sit on the beautiful terrace at SeaYou. Friendly staff who are always up for a chat, tasty burgers and beers! Or walk a bit further and discover the other restaurants.

All in all, plenty to taste and discover. Enjoy!
